Who We Are

Former Federal Prosecutor. Proven Trial Attorney.
Fierce Advocate for the Accused.

Grace Murphy is a seasoned second generation criminal defense attorney with nearly a decade of experience handling serious state and federal charges. As a former Assistant U.S. Attorney and Harris County prosecutor, she has tried complex white collar and violent crime cases from both sides of the courtroom. She now uses that insight to build strategic, aggressive defenses for individuals facing serious legal jeopardy.

About Grace:
Grace Murphy has spent her career in courtrooms — first as a state and federal prosecutor, and now as a dedicated criminal defense attorney. She began her legal journey at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, prosecuting everything from theft and embezzlement to murders and sexual assaults. She went on to serve as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Texas, where she led major fraud investigations and was recognized with the U.S. Attorney’s Award for Superior Performance.

Grace’s commitment to criminal defense runs deep — her father has been a respected criminal defense attorney in Houston for over 30 years, and she grew up with a firsthand understanding of the stakes and responsibility involved in defending the accused. That legacy, combined with her own extensive courtroom experience, drives her fierce advocacy and strategic approach in every case.

Now in private practice, Grace brings insider knowledge to her clients' defense. Her background allows her to anticipate how prosecutors build their cases — and how to dismantle them. Whether the case involves white collar charges, violent offenses, or juvenile matters, she brings meticulous preparation and an unwavering commitment to protecting her clients’ rights.

In addition to her trial practice, Grace is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston Law Center, where she teaches Criminal Litigation and Trial Advocacy. She has also spoken on high-profile panels, including the 2023 “Meet the Enforcers” event hosted by the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Grace completed her undergrad at University of Texas, Austin and attained her law degree from University of Houston Law Center. She received the LEX award for highest grade in Criminal Law class and the Gil Epstein Award for showing the most promise in criminal law.

She worked in the Harris County D.A.'s Office and the United States Attorneys Office on case from DWI to murder, with an emphasis on white collard fraud cases.
